The Green Party's new co-chair is Cem Özdemir, who describes himself as a Turkish Swabian from southwest Germany. Özdemir advocates a pragmatic approach to politics and is unpopular with many among his party's left wing. Now he'll have to prove himself as party co-leader. But it won't be an easy task given the party's search for a new course and new coalition opportunities.
